Après ski wardrobe

As promised, today I'm posting about my après ski wardrobe! Hopefully my ideas will be useful to both those who ski, and those who simply live in a cold place. For me I love nothing more than curling up on a sofa in a snug jumper after a long hard day of skiing with a vin chaud in my hand! But venturing out to the various bars on offer at ski resorts and making lots of French friends can also be lots of fun! So here's a look into my winter après ski wardrobe!

This is my last post of 2012 as I am off to the airport at 3am in the morning, and won't be returning to the UK until 5th January. Thank you to all of those who have supported me in 2012, and hopefully my blog will continue to grow in 2013! I really do appreciate your support.

Many happy returns for the New Year, and I'll see you in 2013!

Off to the mountains...

On Friday I'm off to my favourite place - our house in the French Alps. I've been a skier since the age of two, I've done a ski season in Courchevel, France, and I just can't get enough of powder, vin chaud, and après ski! So I thought I'd share my skiing outfit with my lovely followers! It's a bit more niche than normal, but I really wanted to share my passion with you all - I'll do an après ski post tomorrow to widen the appeal for those of you who'd rather dream of fondues, sleigh rides, and open fires!

THE JACKET

TOPSHOP
black ski jacket from the SNO range
£95

I bought this jacket the other day in preparation for my holiday, and I can't wait to test it out on the slopes! I've been looking for a black belted jacket with a fur hood for a while now, and it was actually surprisingly difficult, so I was happy to come across this beautiful item in Topshop. I just hope it's warm enough!

THE SALOPETTES

THE NORTH FACE
yellow diedre salopettes
£240

These aren't my exact salopettes, but they're close enough. I love mixing these loud yellow trousers with my black jacket, just to brighten up my look. In a snowstorm it's also useful to wear something bright so you don't get lost!

THE HELMET

GIRO LURE
grey helmet
£129.99

When it comes to extreme sports I'm a firm believer in safety first. I have quite an exciting story about falling off a cliff, and ever since then I wouldn't dare ski without a helmet. They may not be the most flattering accessory, but if it'll protect you, then it's definitely worth investing in one!

THE GOGGLES

OAKLEY
seth morrison signature series airbrake snow goggles
£210

I don't actually own these goggles, but I'd like to! I love the colours and the orange lens, and as they're Oakley they're guaranteed to be of the best quality.

THE SKIS

SALOMON
geisha twin-tip skis
£315

I got these skis for my birthday in June (a seasonal gift!) and simply cannot wait to try them out! I love the girly pattern and purples, and I just hope they're good to ski on!

So there's a glimpse into my skiing wardrobe. I hope it's been interesting to both those who like skiing, and those who know little about it, but if not do check back tomorrow for my après ski suggestions!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all my lovely readers! I hope that you have/have had a wonderful day filled with family, friends, and joy.

I am now in bed after a lovely family Christmas, filled to the brim with champagne and yummy food! My day was a perfect mixture of Christmas onesie fever (thank you Cara Delevigne for making onesies acceptable to wear in your 20s - they're so comfy!), Mummy's birthday, seeing my amazing crazy family, so much Christmassy food, and lots of karaoke!

As you can see my sister and I also enjoyed a fashion forward Christmas this year - I can definitely see red noses and beards becoming popular in 2013!

I wish you all many happy wishes over the festive period.

All I want for Christmas is shoes!

Apologies for the cheesy title - after making a huge dent in my Christmas shopping yesterday I am now thoroughly in festive mode! With just over a week to go until that magical day, I'm sure you all gave Santa your Christmas lists a long time ago, but if not then take a cheeky peek at my favourite festive footwear!

A CHRISTMAS PUMP

TOPSHOP
black gem slippers
£32

I actually bought these gorgeous sparkly slippers a few weeks ago, and they've become my party season staple. They're fun but comfortable, and are perfect for wearing to evenings where you'll want to dance the night away! One thing I would say is to try-before-you-buy as I have never had to buy a smaller shoe size, but with these I had to go one size down (from UK 7 to UK 6). I would definitely recommend these shimmering shoes to any girl who loves to look smart, but still wants the comfort.

A CHRISTMAS HEEL

CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA
kitty embroidered heel
£495

I adore these heels! I loved the slipper version, and these are just as cute. I love kittens, all things gold, and luscious velvet - and these shoes have them all in one! I haven't tried them on yet, so I can't comment on how comfortable they are, but they are so gorgeous that I wouldn't care!

A CHRISTMAS BOOT

RUSSELL & BROMLEY
black orchid-dry boots
£285

Everyone needs a good winter boot, and these are simply divine. Russell & Bromley make some truly gorgeous boots, so it's difficult to choose their most fabulous pair, but these ones are incredibly well-made and luxuriously beautiful that they definitely top my list.

So there you have it, my shoes for all Christmas occasions!

Keep dancing!
